Attorney Profile
Managing Partner
CAROLINE C. COOLEY, ESQ.
With over 25 years of litigation experience, Ms. Cooley has successfully litigated complex family law matters in every Denver metro county. As the founder and managing partner, she closely monitors every case and personally ensures that each client has direct contact with her throughout their case. While advocating for resolution outside the courtroom whenever possible, she will not hesitate to litigate if settlement negotiations fail.
Her approach ensures that clients are not lost in the shuffle and produces tangible results. Her aggressive criminal litigation strategy has resulted in dismissal of charges and acquittals for falsely brought accusations. This unique, case-by-case approach to defending criminal matters, rather than a volume-driven model, is key to her clients’ success.
An avid animal lover and dedicated mother to five children, Ms. Cooley’s dogs regularly visit the office, offering hugs and kisses to clients experiencing tough days. Growing up, she traveled the world following her father’s Army career before settling in Colorado. This background gives her unique insight into military retirement issues and cultural differences. As a divorced mother and business owner, she understands the complex emotions and issues at stake for each client. Clients often appreciate the real-life examples she integrates into divorce issues, making an impact on an individual basis.
Having fearlessly walked with many parents to protect their children, she knows all too well when failure to take action results in permanent harm. Her personal experience with children and parents surviving trauma through divorce and abuse/neglect inspired her to become a contract attorney with the Office of Child’s Representative (OCR) for the 4th judicial district. In this role, she represents children’s best interests as a GAL in juvenile dependency and neglect matters, mental health, and guardianship cases.
Additionally, Ms. Cooley serves as a Child and Family Investigator (CFI) and Child Legal Representative (CLR) in domestic relations cases, accepting partial and full state pay. Approved as a CFI in most metro area counties and as a CLR in the 4th judicial district, she is also available to complete Work Product Reviews (WPR) for CFI reports upon request.
Her experience extends to complex issues involving children, including adoption, special education needs, IEPs/504 plans, neuropsychological testing, ADHD/ADD, depression, ODD, Autism, anxiety, medical decisions, medical procedures, and mental health care.
When not working, you’ll likely find her at a local pilates studio, hugging a random dog, or making silly faces with kids in public.
Ms. Cooley is admitted to practice law in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal District Court of the State of Colorado and the State of Colorado. She is also member of the Colorado Bar Association – Family Law Section, and the Douglas/Elbert County Bar Association.
Caroline and her family are dedicated members of the Emmaus Anglican Church of Castle Rock.
Ms. Cooley has guest lectured for the Colorado Association of Animal Control Officers (CAACO), the Colorado School of Trades, and authored legal articles for the magazine Horses of the Rockies.
